The wireless networking has been a big hit with the numerous business travellers and guests staying at the hotels, who can send and receive emails, surf the Internet and make cheap phone calls using Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP).

Hotel Name.
Date and time the ticket was issued. Please note the ticket must be activated with 24 hours of issue.
Length of time the ticket is valid from registration on the wireless network and the price of the ticket.
The account name and password are used to authenticate your login on to the wireless network. Please note: The username and password are both case sensitive.
Service Set Identifier (SSID): This is used to select the hotels wireless network on your computer.
All of the hotel's wireless networks use 64 bit Static WEP security for the protection of your data. When you connect to the wireless network you will be prompted to enter the web key. In this ticket example key 1 is required. Please note: The codes will be different on your ticket and they are hexadecimal numbers 0 to 9 and A to F, so 0 is a numeric 0.

The connection instructions are for connecting using the standard Windows XP wireless connection (Wifi) software. If you are using other software supplied by the computer manufacturers, a third party wireless network card or the company you work for then please consult the manual or help instructions for connection details.
To open the Windows XP wireless connection (Wifi) window click on the toolbar icon highlighted in the picture above.
This will open the Windows wireless connection window. If at this point there are no wireless access points displayed in the window, click on "Refresh network list" to bring up the hotel's network. If more than one network is displayed, click on the hotel's connection to select it and then click on the 'Connect' button to connect to the wireless network (Wifi).

The WEP key from your ticket should now be entered.
There are four keys on the ticket along with a heading telling you which key has been selected for you to enter. See the example ticket above.
The key is a 10 digit hexadecimal number 0 to 9 and A to F, so 0 is a numeric 0 and A to F are not case sensitive.
Once you have entered the key and confirmed it, click on 'Connect' and the computer will spend a few seconds connecting you to the network and acquiring a network address.
If you have entered the WEP key correctly you will get 'Connected' in the top right land corner of the window, like the illustration on the left. If you have entered the WEP key incorrectly then you will get 'Limited on no connectivity' in the top right of the window like the picture on the right.
If you have entered the WEP key incorrectly then click on the 'Disconnect' button at the bottom right of the window and repeat the procedure.
Login
Once you have connected to the network you need to login. To display the login page, open a browser window and either attempt to display an Internet site like
http://www.google.co.uk or enter the hotel's gateway address which are different for each of the hotels and given below.

When you click on the 'Log On' button the window on the left is displayed.
Type in the 'Username' from your ticket into the 'User name' in the login window, followed by the ticket's 'Password' into the 'Password' section in the window. Please note: The username and password are both case sensitive.
The browser should then display a message telling you that you have been authenticated. If you have made a mistake the browser login window will be re-displayed for you to repeat the login process.
